Helping neighbors build bridges out of crisis
Help and hope are given to those seeking to improve their situation. Emergency assistance provides case management to maximize resources. Vouchers are provided for utility, rent, transportation and prescriptions. Together POM and client establish a plan to move out of crisis and toward stability.
Senior Care Corps volunteers often act as advocates for seniors, helping them find transportation or other resources.
Our Samaritan Projects staff and volunteers strive to help the troubled get back on their feet. The help may be in the form of vouchers for rent, utilities and more.
The food and clothing banks welcome all in need. The food bank provides non-perishable fresh and frozen foods each Wednesday. Food for emergencies is available throughout the week from POM’s “Emergency pantry.” Clothing is also available through the clothing bank on Wednesdays free of charge.
Staffed primarily by volunteers, the store receives and shares the goods of the community by offering quality, gently used clothing, and household items at a very low cost. Or, in some cases, depending on the need, items are made available at no charge. Revenue generated from the store is dedicated to supporting POM, helping to make the organization partially self-supporting.
Enumclaw School District named POM to receive the 2017 WASA Community Leadership & Service to Education Award for ongoing support to students & families.
