Cryptocurrency

Everyone is talking about this fancy new “cryptocurrency” term and we, at POM, are on board! But, you may be asking, what exactly is cryptocurrency? And how can you use it to support POM?

According to nerdwallet.com, “Cryptocurrency is a form of payment that can be exchanged online for goods and services. Many companies have issued their own currencies, often called tokens, and these can be traded specifically for the good or service that the company provides. Think of them as you would arcade tokens or casino chips. You’ll need to exchange real currency for the cryptocurrency to access the good or service.”

During a recent Network For Good webinar, we learned that in 2021 around $1 billion was donated and 21 million adults use cryptocurrency. So we have partnered with every.org to be able to accept this new type of donation and use it to further our mission and vision.
